Templeton Pek, the punk rock trio hailing from Birmingham, is making a triumphant return with their latest album, Savages. The band’s roots lie in the industrial core of the city, the same breeding ground that produced legendary acts like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Duran Duran, and The Streets.

In line with Birmingham’s musical legacy, Templeton Pek embodies the city’s spirit of resilience, defiance, and evolution. From heavy metal to punk, the Midlands has a history of cultivating bands that challenge the norm and speak out against the status quo. Savages, the band’s latest offering, stands as a bold, politically charged declaration in a world on the brink of chaos.

Having emerged in the mid-2000s, Templeton Pek, consisting of Neal Mitchell on vocals/bass, Kev Green on guitar, and Jon Keen on drums, began their journey in the underground punk scene before making their mark on international stages. Over the years, they have shared billing with the likes of Rise Against, Bad Religion, Sum 41, and Millencolin, gracing the stages of renowned punk festivals such as Rebellion, Slam Dunk, Punk Rock Holiday, and Jera On Air.

Savages represents a culmination of Templeton Pek’s musical evolution, offering 12 tracks that encapsulate the tumult, anger, and optimism of a world in turmoil. Recorded earlier this year, the album is a testament to power and precision, with Mitchell’s fervent vocals and Green’s dynamic guitars creating a sound that is both melodic and explosive.

Mitchell describes Savages as the record they’ve always wanted to create – loud, angry, yet unifying. The songs speak to anyone who has felt the need to raise their voice to be heard in a society that often overlooks their concerns.

Birmingham’s musical landscape has been shaped by a diverse range of genres and artists, with Templeton Pek standing as a torchbearer for the city’s punk and alternative scene. Their previous album, Watching The World Come Undone, recorded in California, reflected the upheaval of the Brexit era and rising political tensions. The single “The Awakening” captured their frustration and belief in the power of collective action.

As they gear up for the release of Savages, Templeton Pek is set to embark on a European and UK tour in October, including festival appearances and headline shows. The album marks a defining moment in the band’s career, solidifying their place in Birmingham’s storied musical history while carrying forward the legacy of a city known for its musical innovation and rebellion.
