Laurie Wright is one of the rising stars of British rock and roll and has recently released her third studio album, “Power of 3”. Starting out playing on the streets of London’s Camden Town as a kid, Laurie struggled with serious drug and alcohol addiction in her youth. However, after a brief stint in rehab in 2019, she has been sober for five years now.

Her music is a whirlwind of frenzy and fury, with each lyric leaving listeners spellbound. Laurie’s songs are infused with the force of rock and roll and punk, capturing the essence of past legends. She can still be found performing in Camden Town and throughout London, with her creative and chaotic performances and edgy choruses earning her a dedicated fan base.

It has been a long and often bumpy road for Laurie Wright, from her first appearance at 16 on a small stage at Glastonbury (while The Verve played on the main stage) to this latest release following “Get on the end of it” and “We’re Only Warming Up” in 2023 and 2024, respectively.

This new collection of 13 songs from the former The Lodgers member is not just a soul-baring experience but is laid out bare for all to see. The album takes listeners on a transformational journey from addiction through the process of recovery to sobriety with absolute honesty. Laurie’s melodic choruses and immersive lyrics fully immerse listeners in the environments and moments she describes through her rock and roll style akin to Paul Weller and Steve Marriott.

The new release showcases Laurie’s musical and personal growth, marked by her emotional and candid songwriting. The lyrics are not only heartfelt but also portray the turbulent journey Laurie has undergone, making them relatable and poignant to her listeners. Laurie’s music is a testimony to her resilience and strength as she overcame life’s challenges to produce art that resonates with her audience.

This latest album from Laurie Wright symbolizes her resilience and artistic growth, marking her place as a formidable force in the British rock and roll scene. With “Power of 3”, Laurie Wright has once again captured the hearts of her audience and solidified her reputation as a rising star in the music industry.
