Rock band trio collaborating on legendary group’s first album in 50+ years

The Faces, also known as the Small Faces, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and are renowned for hits like “Stay with Me” and “Ooh La La.” Formed in London in 1969 by singer and guitarist Steve Marriott, the group included keyboardist Ian McLagan and bassist Ronnie Lane alongside Jones, Stewart, and Wood. After releasing four studio albums, The Faces disbanded.
Following the split, Stewart pursued a successful solo career, Wood joined the Rolling Stones, and Jones performed with The Who for almost a decade. Unfortunately, Lane, Marriott, and McLagan passed away in 1997 and 2014, respectively. Stewart, Wood, and Jones have sporadically reunited over the years as a trio, working on new music in between Stewart’s tours and Wood’s commitments with the Stones.
In 2021, Wood and Stewart revealed their plans to reunite and create both old and new material, ensuring fans that they would see it through. Stewart expressed confidence in the band’s unique sound, stating that no other group compares to them. Along with working on the new album, Jones, Wood, and Stewart are reportedly collaborating on a documentary showcasing never-before-seen footage of The Faces from 1972.
