Metalcore band announces tour and releases first album in 13 years

A well-known metalcore band has reemerged after an absence of more than a decade. Attack Attack! unveiled two new tracks on Friday as the primary singles from their forthcoming album, “Attack Attack! II.” Set to drop on August 8th, this will mark their first brand-new complete studio album in a span of 13 years.

According to Blabbermouth, Attack Attack! unleashed “Dance!” featuring Will Ramos from Lorna Shore and “Chainless” on Friday. The collaboration with Ramos, a deathcore vocalist, presents the authentic version of “Dance!” following a playful trick on fans with a country remix.

Attack Attack! is taking their fresh music on tour with “The Roadside Rumble Tour” kicking off on Thursday, May 15. While no shows are slated for New York State, enthusiasts of metalcore might be enticed to travel elsewhere to witness the band, with additional support from Convictions, Downswing, and Uncured.

Metalcore is a distinctive style of alternative rock that fuses components of metal and hardcore punk. This subgenre was pioneered by artists like Earth Crisis from Syracuse during the 1990s.

Originally founded in Ohio in 2007, Attack Attack! garnered popularity in the latter part of the 2000s within the Warped Tour and MySpace circles. Known for their fusion of dance/electronica music intertwined with metal, they were sometimes categorized as electronicore, notably for songs like “Stick Stickly,” “All My Life,” and “Smokahontas.”

Remaining faithful to their roots, drummer Andrew Wetzel, an original band member, continues to be a part of the ensemble. The group produced three albums before going on a hiatus back in 2013. Wetzel brought the band back together in 2020 with a fresh lineup.
