UK-based band Wolf Alice has re-emerged onto the music scene with the announcement of their upcoming fourth studio album, ‘The Clearing,’ supported by the release of their latest single, “Bloom Baby Bloom.” The album, set to be released on August 29 through RCA Records, is now available for pre-order. Produced by Greg Kurstin, ‘The Clearing’ marks a significant shift for the band’s frontwoman, Ellie Rowsell, who has decided to step away from her guitar playing to concentrate on her vocals.

Rowsell explained her decision, stating, “I’ve used the guitar as a shield in the past. Playing it has perhaps been some way to reject the ‘girl singer in band’ trope, but I wanted to focus on my voice as a rock instrument so it’s been freeing to put the guitar down and reach a point where I don’t feel like I need to prove that I’m a musician.” This deliberate choice has allowed Rowsell to showcase her vocal prowess and explore new dimensions of her musical talent.

In the single “Bloom Baby Bloom,” Rowsell’s vocals take center stage, backed by a piano-driven melody that highlights her ability to channel the vocal acrobatics of artists like Caroline Polachek. The accompanying music video, directed by Colin Solal Cardo, draws inspiration from the world of All That Jazz, creating a visually captivating experience that complements the song’s emotive lyrics and haunting melody.

With their new album ‘The Clearing,’ Wolf Alice continues to push boundaries and experiment with their sound, delivering a fresh and innovative approach to their music. Fans can expect a departure from the band’s previous work, as Rowsell’s decision to focus on her vocals opens up new possibilities for creative expression and artistic exploration. The band’s evolution is evident in “Bloom Baby Bloom,” a song that showcases Rowsell’s versatility and raw talent as a vocalist.

As Wolf Alice prepares for the release of ‘The Clearing,’ fans and music enthusiasts alike can look forward to a body of work that promises to captivate and inspire. With a blend of introspective lyricism, soulful melodies, and powerful vocals, the band’s latest offering is set to make a significant impact on the music scene. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements from Wolf Alice as they gear up for the release of ‘The Clearing’ and embark on the next chapter of their musical journey.
