A trio from Wales has made public their plans to unveil a new album. Cardinal Black, consisting of lead vocalist Tom Hollister, guitarist Chris Buck, and drummer Adam Roberts, is gearing up to launch their latest record Midnight at the Valencia at Wax n Beans in Bury on Tuesday, May 27. Their newly released single, Keep On Running, has been generating excitement among fans with its unique blend of “swampy, menacing blues sound, full of haunting whistles and scuzzy riffs that crackle like lightning.”

Lead vocalist Hollister noted that the single has a darker tone, which he believes many of their fans will find relatable. The music video for Keep On Running features BAFTA-winning actor Molly Windsor, known for her role in the BBC drama series Three Girls. The album was produced by Cyrill Camenzind at Powerplay Studios in Zurich, who has previously collaborated with artists like James Morrison and Alain Clark.

A band spokesperson described the album as a rich tapestry of emotions, including love, loss, grief, and hope, brought to life by vintage analogue equipment and the band’s cohesive energy. Hollister expressed that the album is a culmination of the band’s shared history and the effort they’ve put in over the years. Cardinal Black has also unveiled plans for a UK and EU tour later this year, with dates scheduled for October, November, and December, including a performance at London’s KOKO on October 30. Tickets for the tour are now available for purchase.

The band views the album as a sincere and ambitious reflection of their journey thus far, inviting listeners to partake in the experiences shared within the record. Midnight at the Valencia will be released in neon pink and neon orange vinyl formats, in addition to standard CD and digital editions. The band’s upcoming album and tour underscore the dedication and passion Cardinal Black invests in their music, promising listeners an immersive and memorable musical experience.
