BTS Jin achieves career high as solo artist on Billboard chart

BTS member Jin recently achieved a significant milestone in his solo music career by reaching a new “career high” on the Billboard charts in the United States. According to a chart preview article published on Billboard’s official website, Jin’s second mini-album titled “Echo” debuted at an impressive third place on the esteemed “Billboard 200” chart for the week of May 31st. This achievement marks Jin’s highest ranking on the Billboard 200 as a solo artist, surpassing his previous album “Happy,” which had reached fourth place on the chart back in November 2024.

Described as an album that delves into various facets of life, “Echo” resonates with listeners by capturing relatable stories and emotions shared by all. Comprising a total of seven tracks, the album covers a wide range of musical genres including pop funk, country rock, brit rock, j-rock, alternative rock, and ballad pop, all anchored in a band-oriented sound. Jin’s poignant vocals and nuanced musical sensibilities add depth and emotional resonance to each track, showcasing his versatility and artistry.

In addition to its success on the Billboard charts, “Echo” made waves internationally by debuting at the 63rd spot on the UK’s prestigious “Official Chart Album Top 100” for the week of May 23-29. This marked the first time Jin’s solo work had entered the UK’s top album chart, solidifying his global appeal and recognition. The album’s lead single, “Don’t Say You Love Me,” achieved significant popularity, climbing to the second spot on Spotify’s “Daily Top Song Global” chart for May 24, and landing at 58th place on the UK’s “Official Chart Single Top 100.” The single also topped three detailed charts, namely “Download Single,” “Single Sales,” and “Physical Single.”

Looking ahead, Jin is set to embark on his first solo fan concert tour titled “#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR,” beginning with a series of performances at Goyang Stadium in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, from June 28-29. The tour will span 18 shows across nine cities, including Chiba and Osaka in Japan, Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, Newark in the U.S., and London and Amsterdam in Europe, providing fans worldwide with the opportunity to experience Jin’s music live.

Jin’s remarkable achievement with “Echo” adds to the impressive legacy of BTS, with the group having already topped the Billboard 200 charts multiple times with previous albums such as “LOVE YOURSELF 結 ‘Tear,'” “LOVE YOURSELF 結 ‘Answer,'” “MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA,” “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7,” “BE,” and “Proof.” As Jin continues to captivate audiences with his solo endeavors, his success serves as a testament to his talent, dedication, and enduring popularity as a global music icon.
