GayC/DC debuts ‘Gay Boy Boogie’ featuring a hint of Twisted Sister
GayC/DC, a band hailing from Los Angeles, has been making waves since their inception in 2013. Their latest track, ‘Gay Boy Boogie’, is a playful nod to AC/DC’s classic ‘Bad Boy Boogie’ from the 1977 album ‘Let There Be Rock’.
The music video for ‘Gay Boy Boogie’ cleverly pays tribute to Twisted Sister’s iconic ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ video. It caught the attention of Dee Snider, lead vocalist of Twisted Sister, who expressed his approval on social media, stating, “I think it’s great.”
Drummer Brian Welch shared, “This was our love letter to Twisted Sister and homage to director Marty Callner but with a GayC/DC twist.” The band, founded by Christopher Freeman and Welch, also includes Glen Pavan on bass, Patrick Goodwin on guitar, and Steve McKnight on lead guitar.
The inspiration for ‘Gay Boy Boogie’ stems from AC/DC’s ‘Bad Boy Boogie’ track, featured on their fourth Australian (and third American) album, ‘Let There Be Rock’.
GayC/DC’s unique blend of glam and metal influences sets them apart in the music scene. Their creativity and homage to rock legends like Twisted Sister and AC/DC have garnered them a growing fan base.
