Rock ‘n’ roll music has a long history of rebelliousness and revolution, with its raw emotion creating memorable cultural moments and industry shifts. In 1970, Grand Funk Railroad made a splash by unveiling a billboard in Times Square, New York, to promote their album “Closer to Home,” which eventually reached No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Ten years later, Billy Joel’s album “Glass Houses” climbed to the top spot on the chart, featuring his first single to top the Billboard Hot 100 with “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me.”

Most recently, in 2024, Taylor Swift brought her Eras Tour to Liverpool, UK, where she praised the crowd for their overwhelming support.
