AC/DC, the iconic Australian rock band known for hits like Back in Black, Thunderstruck, and Let There Be Rock, is set to make a triumphant return to Perth after over a decade. The band’s Power Up tour will bring them to Optus Stadium on December 4, marking the penultimate stop on their Australian tour.

Lead guitarist Angus Young and vocalist Brian Johnson will be performing alongside Stevie Young, nephew of Angus and late rhythm guitarist Malcolm, drummer Matt Laug, and bass player Chris Chaney. Fans can expect a spectacular show filled with classic AC/DC songs and a high-energy performance.

The last time AC/DC graced the stage in Perth was back in November 2015 at Subiaco Oval, where they played two sold-out nights to a total of 80,000 fans. This tour was part of a larger Australian tour that attracted more than half a million fans nationwide, highlighting the band’s enduring popularity and cultural significance in the region.

Perth holds a special place in AC/DC history as it was the hometown of singer Bon Scott, who lived in the city before pursuing a career in music. Scott’s legacy continues to resonate in Perth, adding a layer of nostalgia and emotional connection to AC/DC’s upcoming performance at Optus Stadium.

Promoter Christo Van Egmond, whose father worked with the band for over four decades, expressed anticipation for the upcoming tour, emphasizing the band’s commitment to keeping ticket prices accessible for fans. The Power Up tour has already been a massive success, selling 1.7 million tickets on its first day of sales and receiving critical acclaim for its larger-than-life production and electrifying performances.

Named after their 17th studio album, Power Up, which topped the ARIA Albums chart upon its release in 2020, the tour has taken AC/DC across Europe and North America, with upcoming shows in Europe before concluding in Edinburgh in August. The band’s enduring legacy, energetic performances, and timeless hits continue to captivate audiences worldwide, making the Power Up tour a must-see event for fans of all ages.

With the upcoming Perth show set to be a true spectacle, AC/DC fans can look forward to an unforgettable night of music, lights, and rock ‘n’ roll. Don’t miss your chance to witness the legendary Australian rockers in action at Optus Stadium on December 4. Tickets go on sale soon, so be sure to secure your spot for what promises to be an electrifying performance by one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
