Music acts NOBRO, Bad Waitress, and Carnivore Mommy deliver electrifying performances at Chicago’s Beat Kitchen (6/10/25)

NOBRO and Bad Waitress, two Canadian punk rock bands, joined forces for The Go For Broke Tour, which began at Punk Rock Bowling in May and made its way across the United States. Chicago’s Carnivore Mommy kicked off the evening with a dramatic performance, having previously appeared at the H.O.O.F. festival celebrating women, femmes, and non-binary individuals in punk rock.

On May 25th, Carnivore Mommy released their latest single, “Dissonance,” solidifying their position as a favorite among local bands. Witnessing their live performance is a transformative experience that captivates audiences and garners appreciation.

Bad Waitress, another Canadian punk rock band, delivered a high-energy set in Chicago, playing crowd favorites like “What Do I Want?”, “That Sedative,” and “Manners,” as well as introducing their latest single, “Plan B.” Guitarist Katelyn Molgard moved seamlessly between the stage and the crowd, while lead vocalist Kali-Ann Butala impressed with her distinctive, rough-edged vocals, creating an atmosphere of unapologetic, lively energy throughout the evening.

Closing out the night was NOBRO, a fierce all-female Canadian punk band known for their powerful stage presence. Their debut album, “Set Your Pussy Free,” released on October 27, 2023, through Dine Alone Records, received widespread acclaim and earned them the 2025 JUNO award for Rock Album of the Year.

The combination of NOBRO, Bad Waitress, and Carnivore Mommy made for an unforgettable night of punk rock at Chicago’s Beat Kitchen.
