Higher Power, an alt-hardcore band based in Leeds, has recently released their third studio album, “There’s Love In This World If You Want It,” digitally via Nuclear Blast Records. The band also shared a new video for the song “All The Rage” concurrently with the album release. The physical version of the album is set to be available for purchase on September 19, with pre-orders currently open.

Vocalist Jimmy Wizard of Higher Power describes this latest album as a significant progression for the band. Taking full control of their creative process, the band self-produced the album, resulting in a sound that truly reflects their authenticity and current collective identity. This album marks a milestone in the band’s evolution, showcasing their growth both sonically and as individuals and musicians.

Having first emerged in the Yorkshire hardcore scene nearly a decade ago, Higher Power has come a long way since their early days paying tribute to crossover acts such as Leeway and Merauder. While initially driven by passion rather than ambition, the band quickly gained traction, solidifying their place in the music scene through notable performances and collaborations with renowned acts like Alexisonfire, Knocked Loose, and Angel Du$t. Their signing with Roadrunner Records for their 2020 album “27 Miles Underwater” further propelled them into the mainstream spotlight.

However, as Higher Power navigated the conventional music industry landscape, they began to sense a growing misalignment between external expectations and their artistic vision. With their latest album, they sought to reclaim their creative independence and original sound. This renewed focus on instinct and self-trust is evident in the experimental and diverse fusion of sounds found on “There’s Love In This World If You Want It.”

Featuring nine tracks, the album blends hardcore energy with intricate, psych-inflected layers of sound. Tracks like “All The Rage” capture a delicate balance between chaos and clarity, showcasing the band’s versatile musicality and willingness to explore new sonic territories. Rather than conforming to established norms, Higher Power’s latest release is a testament to their ongoing journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration.

Thematically, the album delves into the complexities of personal growth and inner peace. The band emphasizes the importance of introspection and self-awareness in finding love, compassion, and understanding within oneself. Through their music, Higher Power navigates the tension between struggle and possibility, presenting a nuanced and introspective perspective on the human experience.

In essence, “There’s Love In This World If You Want It” encapsulates Higher Power’s commitment to authenticity, self-expression, and creative evolution. By embracing their unique musical identity and challenging external expectations, the band continues to carve out their path in the music industry, refusing to conform to established conventions and embracing the boundless potential of their artistry.
