KEM, the talented R&B artist with multiple GRAMMY nominations, is embarking on a new leg of his illustrious career. With a vast audience base of over 1.1 billion streams and a collection of songs brimming with evocative storytelling and sophistication, the Detroit native is taking a step back to his origins as he launches his independent label, Kemistry Records. Scheduled for release this summer, his latest single, “Give My Love,” will be the label’s first unveiling in more than two decades.

The unveiling of “Give My Love” will take place at Detroit’s Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre on the 25th and 26th of July. These performances promise to capture the intimacy and sincerity that have defined KEM’s music since his inception.

Kemistry Records was the launching pad for KEM’s career in the early 2000s, highlighted by his debut album “KEMISTRY” and the popular track “Love Calls.” After self-distributing over 14,000 copies, he signed with Motown Records, which later re-released his album in 2003. For 20 years, KEM served as a hallmark voice for Motown, paying tribute to the label’s soulful tradition.

His departure from Motown, according to KEM, was a heartfelt yet necessary move towards artistic liberation and forging a deeper connection with his fanbase. Expressing his sentiments, he stated, “Motown has been a great ally, but I felt compelled to revisit my origins. Kemistry Records marked the place where I discovered my genuine voice and purpose.”

KEM’s recent performances in South Africa, which saw him play to packed audiences, served as the breeding ground for “Give My Love”. Having drawn inspiration from the passionate South African crowds, KEM hopes to disseminate the same message of unity and love through this new release, resonating with his hometown and beyond.

Beyond just offering new music, “Give My Love” represents KEM’s revival of purpose, embodying a renewed sense of direction and meaning. The track is set to be available on all major streaming platforms this summer, promising a return to his roots and a reconnection with his audience through emotive storytelling and soulful melodies.
