Their latest album, Poetry from Pain, showcases the band’s unique blend of metal riffs, hardcore breakdowns, and hip-hop elements, creating a sound that defies traditional genres. The album features collaborations with artists like Daniel Son, Pro Dillinger, and Jay Royale on a remix of “Still Playin’ For Keeps,” as well as appearances from nothing, nowhere. and Mike “Truck” Ryan. “Heavy Metal Money (Seen It All Before)” stands out with Big Body Bes’s raw vocal delivery adding a touch of grit and swagger to the track.

Gridiron’s ability to seamlessly transition between intense metal aesthetics and straightforward rap verses exemplifies their commitment to avoiding conformity. The band’s approach, described as following an unpredictable playbook, has garnered attention from well-known publications like Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, and NO ECHO, showcasing their originality and distinctive sound.

Their label, Blue Grape Music, established in 2022 by industry veterans David Rath and Cees Wessels with a growing roster that includes bands like Code Orange, GEL, and Spiritual Cramp, signed Gridiron early on. The label’s partnership with The Orchard ensures that the band’s music reaches a wide audience.

Gridiron’s upcoming tour dates, including stops on the Summer Slaughter tour alongside Hatebreed and other bands, promise an exciting and energetic live experience for fans. With a blend of metal, rap, and hardcore influences, Gridiron continues to push boundaries and establish themselves as a unique force in the music scene.
