Iconic 1970s rock band Aerosmith is hinting at a potential reunion tour, surprising fans after lead singer Steven Tyler’s vocal troubles. Last year, the band announced that they would no longer be touring due to Steven’s vocal cord injury during their Peace Out tour in 2023. The band faced challenges during their Peace Out Farewell Tour, with several shows being rescheduled. Ultimately, they revealed that Steven’s vocal recovery was not feasible, leading to the heartbreaking decision to retire from touring.

Following a charity performance in February, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum provided an update on Steven’s condition, explaining that due to the pressure and rigors of a full worldwide tour, Steven would not be embarking on another tour. However, Aerosmith’s guitarist Joe Perry has given some hope for fans during an interview on the SiriusXM show Trunk Nation. He mentioned that the band members are considering the possibility of upcoming gigs and are currently in discussions about it. Joe expressed optimism about another Aerosmith concert, although he admitted to feeling some apprehension about finalizing the setlist for the potential performance.

When it comes to Steven’s participation in a future tour, Joe noted that it would depend on various factors, including whether Steven would be able to handle the demands of touring. The band members have had time to reflect due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Joe commenting on the unique experience of being at home and not having to travel constantly. Despite the challenges, Joe expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to make music, emphasizing his desire to get back on stage and perform.

In a social media post in August, the band expressed gratitude to their fans for their unwavering support over the years. They acknowledged the fans’ role in their journey as a band and thanked them for being an integral part of their music history. Aerosmith recognized the impact of their music on fans’ lives, emphasizing Steven Tyler’s unique vocal talent and the band’s commitment to giving memorable performances. However, it was clear that Steven’s vocal injury had posed insurmountable challenges, leading the band to make the difficult decision to step back from touring.

Aerosmith, comprised of Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, and Joey Kramer, has maintained a consistent lineup over the past five decades, solidifying their status as the best-selling American hard rock band of all time. With over 150 million records sold worldwide, including 85 million in the United States, Aerosmith has left an indelible mark on the music industry. Fans are eagerly awaiting news of a potential reunion tour and the opportunity to once again experience the band’s electrifying performances.
