JUDAS PRIEST shares cover of BLACK SABBATH’s “War Pigs”
Judas Priest might not be gracing the stage at the epic Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne farewell concert, but they’re certainly not staying silent. Instead, the iconic metal band has released a high-powered, adrenaline-pumping cover of Black Sabbath’s classic anthem, “War Pigs.”
This track is a heartfelt tribute to their fellow musical legends from Birmingham. Timed perfectly for the farewell show, the cover stands as a formidable addition to Judas Priest’s impressive discography.
“We are honored to pay homage to Ozzy and Black Sabbath with our rendition of ‘War Pigs,’ a song that we perform at every show worldwide. The fans sing along, affirming their love for the legendary Prince Of Darkness,” shared the band.
Black Sabbath’s final concert, Back to the Beginning, is scheduled for July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, the birthplace of heavy metal and Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown. This historical event marks the band’s final live performance, reuniting the original lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for the first time since 2005.
Additionally, the concert will feature a solo performance by Ozzy, limited due to health concerns, before he joins the band for a final farewell. The show was conceived by Sharon Osbourne as a meaningful return to the stage for Ozzy and serves as a charitable fundraiser for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Judas Priest and Alice Cooper are slated to embark on a co-headlining North American tour this fall, from September through October. The tour will feature opening acts Corrosion of Conformity, who are set to release a new album this year.
The 22-city tour kicks off on September 16 at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, MS, making stops in various cities like Toronto, Phoenix, Los Angeles, before concluding on October 26 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX. Tickets for the tour are now available.
In a world where music speaks volumes, Judas Priest, with their powerful cover of “War Pigs,” pays homage to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, cementing their place in the ranks of heavy metal royalty.
