2025 Golden Melody Festival Wraps Up Triumphantly
n the Mandarin music industry, the festival wrapped up with great success. This year, the event attracted nearly 50 professionals and buyers from different parts of the world including Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Australia to Taiwan. The festival provided these attendees with opportunities for collaboration through sessions like Speed Meeting and the Biz-Matching Center, enhancing networking and partnerships. Moreover, a series of Conferences were held to delve into the latest global industry trends, enabling local professionals to stay informed and connected with international markets.
During the Conferences, esteemed experts came together to discuss key topics such as music creation, distribution, and marketing strategies. One notable speaker was Panos A. Panay, the President of The Recording Academy, which is responsible for organizing the prestigious GRAMMY Awards. Panos shared valuable insights on the Academy’s mission and various initiatives, focusing on how artists can navigate the digital landscape and expand their global reach. Emphasizing the importance of “Music Without Borders,” Panos encouraged artists to tell their stories in their native languages, promoting cultural diversity and inclusion. He expressed his confidence in the potential of Taiwanese music and expressed hopes of seeing Taiwanese musicians receive GRAMMY nominations in the near future, giving Taiwan a global platform.
The festival commenced with an exciting opening event featuring six Best New Artist nominees from the Golden Melody Awards 2025, including SherryZ, Giyu Tjuljaviya, someshiit, JUD, Kumu Basaw, and Andr. These talented individuals showcased their captivating stage presence and innovative talents, highlighting Taiwan’s emerging pop music scene. Following this, a three-day Showcase concert series was organized, featuring nine local artists and bands such as Misi Ke, Running Youth, Sauljaljui, Makav, Robot Swing, Flesh Juicer, Rhydian Vaughan, Modern Cinema Master, Fool and Idiot, as well as three international acts: Annisya x Song Brothers from Indonesia, Zenbu Kimi no Seida from Japan, and Can’t Be Blue from South Korea.
Additionally, as part of the GMA Partnership Program, Taiwanese artists who participated in the festival were invited to perform at several renowned overseas music festivals. These include the Pentaport Rock Festival in Incheon, South Korea in August, CAT EXPO in Thailand in November, and JoyLand Festival in Indonesia also in November. This opportunity will not only showcase Taiwan’s musical talent on a global stage but also foster cultural exchange and appreciation among diverse audiences worldwide.
