It is not uncommon to witness similar displays of eagerness and enthusiasm from the public at other major outdoor events like the annual airshow near the London International Airport. Motorists often pull over alongside roads near the airport, striving to catch glimpses of the aerial displays without spending a dime. This behavior highlights a widespread phenomenon where people seek to partake in the festivities and excitement of major events whether or not they hold tickets.

Melissa and Greg Warkentin, also deterred by ticket prices, chose to forgo attending the festival in person. Instead, they brought along chairs and take-out burgers to relish the music from across the river.
