After close to thirty years of reshaping the heavy music landscape, the Deftones have returned with a captivating new record called Private Music, featuring 11 tightly woven tracks. This album underscores the band’s position as one of the most innovative and emotionally resonant forces in contemporary rock music. Against a backdrop of soul-searching and natural beauty, Private Music stands out as one of the most coherent and refined offerings in the band’s illustrious career.

In anticipation of their forthcoming release, Private Music, Deftones have debuted a colossal new single, “My Mind Is A Mountain,” that is sure to resonate deeply with long-standing fans of the band’s more intense, moody side. A monumental track brimming with atmosphere, “My Mind Is A Mountain” feels like a companion piece to the dark, brooding tracks from the White Pony and self-titled era. It seamlessly blends heavy, sludge-weight riffs with dreamy textures, all complemented by Chino Moreno’s haunting vocals. This song represents Deftones at their most seismic—dense, slow, and profoundly immersive.

Joining Deftones’ core lineup—Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado—is touring bassist Fred Sablan, who made an appearance on the album. Private Music marks the band’s reunion with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who played a pivotal role in defining their sound during the critically acclaimed creative periods around Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012).

The tracklist for Private Music includes:

“My Mind Is a Mountain”
“Locked Club”
“Ecdysis”
“Infinite Source”
“Souvenir”
“CXZ”
“I Think About You All the Time”
“Milk of the Madonna”
