Friday, July 11, kicks off with a screening of the classic film “Sixteen Candles” at The Colonial Theatre in Keene. This coming-of-age gem from the 1980s features Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall and promises to transport you back in time. If you’re in the mood for laughter, Small Pond Productions is presenting “Drinking Habits,” a farcical comedy about wine-making nuns and undercover reporters at the Community House of Marlborough.
Saturday, July 12, offers a range of events from a Yard Sale & Bake Sale for adoptable dogs at Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption in Swanzey to a free public sing event by Keene Cheshiremen at The Home Depot in Keene. The Artist & Garden Tour starting at the Jaffrey Civic Center allows you to witness artists in action amidst beautiful gardens. Additionally, a documentary screening of “Braiding a New Life” at Latchis Theatre in Brattleboro, VT, sheds light on asylum seekers in Vermont.
The music scene is vibrant on Saturday with various concerts such as Diane Ammons at The Park Theatre, Mitchella: Outdoor Punk Rock Festival in Westmoreland, and a folk duo performance by Molly Venter & Eben Pariser. Not to be missed is the live music tribute to early Grateful Dead sets by Wolfman Jack at Brewbakers in Keene. If you’re in the mood for some singer-songwriter goodness, Temple Mountain, Ian Galipeau, & Dylan Patrick Ward are performing at Harlow’s Pub in Peterborough.
Sunday, July 13, wraps up the weekend with the final showing of “Drinking Habits” by Small Pond Productions, a Celtic roots trio performance by Kalos at Putney Tavern Lawn in Putney, VT, and community band concerts in Heritage Park in Hinsdale and Town Green in Walpole.
