Family honors energetic young man killed in motorcycle accident

The family of a young man who tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident recently paid tribute to him for his vibrant personality and zest for life. Liam Knight, a 20-year-old father from Yaxley, lost his life in a collision between a car and a motorbike on the A47 near Eye. Growing up in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, Liam resided in Yaxley for the past two years with his aunt, Karrie Roper, and uncle. An apprentice welder fabricator by trade, Liam was also a loving father to his one-year-old son, Samuel. Described by his aunt as a lively and joyful individual, Liam’s infectious energy was evident in his constant laughter and sense of humor. Karrie reminisced about Liam’s amusing antics, such as sneaking random items into their shopping basket just to make her laugh.
Known for his passion for bikes, Liam enjoyed riding push bikes, scooters, and was an avid fan of music and video games. According to Karrie, Liam embraced life with enthusiasm, always seeking adventure with his friends. Affectionately nicknamed “biggie” due to his towering 6ft 4in frame, Liam was also known for his hearty appetite, especially his fondness for spaghetti bolognese.
In the wake of his untimely passing, Karrie has set up a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to cover Liam’s funeral expenses and establish a savings fund for his son, Samuel. Meanwhile, Cambridgeshire Police is calling for witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the accident involving a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a blue Yamaha motorcycle. The tragic incident occurred at approximately 1:15 pm on the A47 near the Eye Green services roundabout.
