Boston-based band Little Low has recently released a quirky and vibrant music video for their song “Sunshine Guilt,” which is also the title track of their debut LP. The video, directed by Justin Albaniel, captures the essence of the song, which delves into the conflicting emotions of wanting to stay indoors on a sunny day. Vocalist Christine Atturio explains the inspiration behind the song, recounting her time living in the sunny Bay Area and the feeling of guilt that came with wanting to stay inside on beautiful days.

The music video features their friend Kyle, from the Boston DJ duo The Glitter Boys, dressed in a sun costume, playfully causing chaos for the band members as they go about their day. Christine Atturio elaborates on the concept behind the video, mentioning that they had initially envisioned the sun from Mario Brothers chasing them but decided on a more budget-friendly approach with their friend in a sun costume. The video captures the band’s fun-loving spirit and camaraderie, with plenty of laughter as Kyle embraces his comedic role in the video.

Formed by Christine Atturio and Mike Assatly, along with Tom Ciesluk and Brad Rheault, Little Low draws inspiration from bands like The Get Up Kids, Hey Mercedes, and Jimmy Eat World while infusing their own unique sound. Recorded by Trevor Reilly of A Wilhelm Scream at Anchor End, their debut LP is filled with bright melodies, twinkling guitars, and raw emotional honesty that resonates with their audience. The band’s music is a reflection of their shared experiences and friendship, with lyrics that feel genuine and relatable.

The video for “Sunshine Guilt” encapsulates the band’s playful and lighthearted approach to their music, highlighting the absurdity of existential dread in a fun and relatable manner. The blend of humor and style in the video, infused with Wes Anderson vibes, adds to its charm and appeal. The band’s infectious energy and enthusiasm shine through in the video, offering a glimpse into their dynamic and creative spirit.

Little Low’s debut LP, released through Sell The Heart Records (U.S.), Thousand Island Records (Canada), and Waterslide Records (Japan), is a testament to their passion for music and their commitment to authenticity.
