Joyer, the musical endeavor of brothers Nick and Shane Sullivan, has set the stage for their highly anticipated album “On The Other End of the Line…”, due to be released on October 24, 2025, under the Julia’s War Recordings label. The album was brought to life at Palisade Studios in Chicago under the watchful eye of producer Henry Stoehr from Slow Pulp. “Cure”, the first single off the album, is a melodic masterpiece that delves into themes of loneliness and the quest for meaningful connections through fleeting interactions.

Shane Sullivan, one half of Joyer, sheds light on the inspiration behind “Cure”, explaining, “This song explores the feelings of loneliness and the search for connection in unexpected places. It delves into the idea that even the smallest interaction with a stranger can hold significant meaning.” The track beautifully weaves in the album’s title amidst shimmering guitars, encapsulating curiosity and empathy towards the little moments that bind people together.

Accompanying the release of “Cure” is an evocative music video that transports viewers to a nostalgic, yellow-hued version of New York City. The video captures the band in their element, performing on a rooftop against the backdrop of the city’s everyday scenes – from pigeons to laundry. Just like the track, the video highlights the impact of seemingly insignificant moments on a person’s life.

Joyer has carved a niche for themselves in the East Coast DIY music scene, garnering a loyal following over the years. Having toured extensively with notable bands and released critically acclaimed albums like “Night Songs” in 2024, the duo is known for their bold indie rock sound. With “On The Other End of the Line…”, Joyer strips down their music to its core, infusing each song with raw emotion and infectious melodies.

As Nick and Shane found themselves in different cities post the release of “Night Songs”, they experienced a profound sense of distance and change. Juggling the demands of a busy tour schedule and personal transitions, the brothers channelled their experiences into crafting a new album that pushes the boundaries of pop melodicism. Themes of reflection, longing, and growth permeate through tracks like “Cure” and “Glare of the Beer Can”, showcasing Joyer’s evolution as musicians.

Working closely with producer Henry Stoehr, Joyer embraced a more experimental approach to recording, drawing from influences like Velocity Girl and Helvetia to hone their signature sound. The album features a rich tapestry of instrumentation, with acoustic textures and intricate guitar melodies interwoven seamlessly. Collaborating with friends like Jake Miller and Sabrina Nichols added depth and warmth to the record, creating a sonic experience that is both captivating and emotional.

Joyer’s upcoming tour alongside Teethe and villagerrr promises to bring their music to new audiences across the Midwest, solidifying their place in the indie rock scene. With “On The Other End of the Line…”, Joyer invites listeners on a heartfelt journey through introspection, connection, and the beauty of fleeting moments.
