Towards the conclusion of April, d4vd, also known as David Burke, a native of New York, elevated his stylish bedroom pop music to a new level by unveiling his debut album, Withered. This release followed the introduction of a couple of EPs and some high-profile collaborations with artists such as Kali Uchis and Laufey.

Preparing to embark on a tour, d4vd has a jam-packed schedule lined up, starting in Arizona today and running through December with several dates in Australia. Homegrown talent hannah bahng will be opening these shows, increasing the possibility of a joint performance of Burke’s latest song.

Titled “L.O.V.E.U,” this track is a sunny, heartwarming duet between Burke and Sydney-based hannah bahng. The song is a sincere portrayal of deep romantic feelings, reflected in the playful yet heartfelt exchanges between the two artists in the accompanying music video, which was directed by bahng herself.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Burke shared that the partnership with bahng came about naturally: “hannah and I quickly connected after meeting at a concert. She was fascinated by my phone-based music-making process, so we started a project together, and the creative process flowed smoothly from there. We both love it.”

Sometimes, it’s best not to overanalyze things, as emphasized by David’s experience with this collaboration. Withered Deluxe: Marcescence is set to release in the summer on Darkroom Records / Interscope. Check out the song’s video and the full schedule for the North American tour below.

In the coming weeks, bahng will be releasing her latest EP, The Misunderstood, starting on September 12th.
