Intercourse, composed of Tarek Ahmed, Caleb Porter, Sean Prior, and Pete Stroczkowski, detailed the sources of inspiration behind their anticipated record, How I Fell In Love With The Void, slated for release on September 12. Tarek delved into how On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong profoundly impacted him. The book’s narrative composed of letters penned by a young Vietnamese man to his mother, addressing delicate topics such as immigration and identity, resonated with Tarek’s contemplation on writing styles. Pulp by Charles Bukowski captivated him with its unique blend of noir and sci-fi elements, signaling a literary shift. However, Stephen King’s Pet Semetary evoked poignant emotions, albeit with a hesitant revisit due to its poignant narrative.

Sean revisited Shudder to Think’s Pony Express Record, lauding its intricate guitar work as a defining influence on his musical journey.
