Fury release music video for new song “Don’t Lie To Me” off their upcoming album ‘Interceptor’
Fury has released a new track titled “Don’t Lie To Me” from their upcoming album ‘Interceptor’. The band, made up of co-lead vocalist and guitarist Julian Jenkins, co-lead vocalist Nyah Ifill, bassist Becky Baldwin, guitarist Tom Atkinson, and drummer Tom Fenn, recently unveiled a video for the single. Their album, ‘Interceptor’, is scheduled for release via Mighty Music in September 2025.
The tracklist for ‘Interceptor’ includes ten songs, starting with the title track and followed by “What’s It Gonna Be?”, “On The Town”, “Don’t Lie To Me”, “In Pursuit Of Destiny”, “Can’t Resist (Gimme What I Need)”, “Walk Away”, “Look At Us Now”, “DTR”, and “Undistilled”.
According to Target Shop’s website, Fury is breaking barriers in the hard rock and metal genres with their new album, ‘Interceptor’. The band aims to deliver old-school fast riffing and anthemic vocals that will resonate with their long-term fans while also incorporating carefully composed, introspective elements to surprise listeners who expect metal bands to stay within defined boundaries.
Since their previous album ‘Born To Sin’ in 2022, Fury has explored new territories by incorporating dual lead vocals. This change has expanded the band’s soundscape and allowed them to explore more vocal melody and harmony than before. Nyah Ifill joined the group as co-lead vocalist alongside Julian Jenkins, creating a powerful blend of vocal styles that is showcased on the ‘Interceptor’ album and during their dynamic live performances.
In 2022, bassist Becky Baldwin had a significant career moment when she toured with heavy metal icons Mercyful Fate in the absence of their bassist, Joey Vera. This experience led to an invitation to join Mercyful Fate permanently in January 2024. Despite her busy schedule with Mercyful Fate, Becky has remained committed to Fury, contributing to the recording and touring for the energetic ‘Interceptor’ album.
‘Interceptor’ represents a new sonic direction for Fury, as they enlisted the production expertise of Todd Campbell from Stompbox Studios. The band connected with Todd while touring with Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons in 2023. His background with Motörhead and Lemmy made him a perfect fit to capture the raw energy and gritty tones that Fury desired for their fifth studio album.
Since their formation in 2010, Fury has experienced several lineup changes. However, in recent years, the band has found their stride, expanding their presence to include touring in mainland Europe and growing their online following worldwide. Notable performances include appearances at festivals like Download (UK), Bloodstock Open Air (UK), and UrRock (CH), as well as supporting bands such as Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Firewind, and Florence Black.
Hailing from the West Midlands of the UK, Fury adds their unique sound to the region’s history of producing excellent heavy bands. With a shift from a do-it-yourself approach to signing with Mighty Music, ‘Interceptor’ promises to shake up the airwaves once again and solidify Fury’s place in the rock and metal music scene.
