est of all, it’s FREE to play!!! Download for free in your app store.”
At the start of the video, Ty asks for help from viewers, transforming into a cartoon version of himself with his trademark spiky hair from his appearances on “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
The video game incorporates Ty’s famous catchphrases like “Let’s get to work!” and the iconic phrase signaling the reveal, “Bus driver, move that bus!”
The new game allows players to take on the role of the designer, giving them a chance to experience what it’s like to be in control of the renovation process. Ty describes it as “super fun.”
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” originally aired on ABC for a decade from 2003 to 2012. The show featured families in distress living in challenging circumstances, who were then surprised with home renovations within a week.
In 2025, a new version of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” debuted on ABC, but this time without Ty Pennington as the host.
In response to his absence, Ty posted a video on Instagram in which he humorously lip-syncs to a clip from “Friends” expressing that he’s “fine” with the situation. He even captions the video with a playful reference to his feelings, humorously indicating that he is genuinely okay with not hosting the show anymore.
Despite Ty’s acceptance of the new version, some of his HGTV colleagues expressed their disappointment about his absence. Host Jenn Todryk from “No Demo Reno” commented on the post, saying, “But WE’RE not fine with it!” while Taniya Nayak from “Battle on the Beach” praised Ty’s sense of humor, acknowledging that “laughter always wins.”
Even though Ty Pennington may not be part of the recent revival of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” he has found a way to engage fans through a new video game that allows players to immerse themselves in the design process of the show. By opening up this interactive opportunity, Ty has cleverly brought back the essence of the original series, keeping its spirit alive in a fresh and innovative way for fans to enjoy.
