Sheléa to Release Upcoming EP “Spirit”
Sheléa, the highly talented international singer/songwriter/producer/pianist/actress, is set to release her new EP titled “Spirit” on August 29th. The EP will feature the title track along with her latest songs: “I Don’t Care”, “Time Machine”, and “Never Give Up On Love”.
Having been mentored by the late legend Quincy Jones and recently completing a national tour as Stevie Wonder’s “Special Guest”, Sheléa is currently headlining her PBS special, “Aretha! With Sheléa and The Pacific Symphony.” This televised tribute to the iconic ‘Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin can be viewed on PBS stations, as well as streaming for free on PBS.org and the PBS App. The special, filmed at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa, California, features Sheléa performing timeless Franklin classics like “Chain of Fools”, “Say A Little Prayer”, “Respect”, and “Natural Woman”, as well as other iconic tracks including “Until You Come Back to Me” and “I Knew You Were Waiting” (a duet with Stevie Mackey). Accompanied by the Pacific Symphony and a background choir, Sheléa delivers an unforgettable performance.
Sheléa’s musical repertoire includes performances, writing, and recording on numerous GRAMMY® winning/nominated albums by artists such as Yolanda Adams, Take 6, Cory Henry, Masego, and more. Renowned figures in the industry including Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, David Foster, Queen Latifah, and Jamie Foxx have all praised Sheléa for her remarkable talent. Over the years, she has showcased her vocal prowess at prestigious venues like The White House, The Library of Congress, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and The Vatican.
