Kim Cheon, the Managing Director, has finally taken fan opinions into consideration for the reinstallation of variable seats, setting the stage for even more fervent cheering. Kimcheon Sangmu, under the leadership of head coach Chung Jung-yong, is gearing up to face FC Seoul in the ‘Hana Bank K League 1 2025’ at Gimcheon Stadium on the 17th. The team has struggled against Seoul, with a string of nine winless games since their initial victory in 2022. With just one win, four draws, and five losses, Gimcheon’s performance against Seoul has been lackluster, and the pressure to secure a win is mounting. However, there seems to be a glimmer of hope in the air as Gimcheon remains unbeaten in the last four games, clinching two wins and two draws. The offensive lineup, including players like Park Sang-hyuk, Lee Dong-kyung, and Won Ki-jong, is showcasing their formidable prowess, and the return of Park Chan-yong from injury adds to the team’s optimism.

The much-anticipated reintroduction of variable seats at Gimcheon Stadium is set to enhance the matchday experience for fans. With a total of 644 seats, including 364 regular seats and 280 standing seats, the variable seat system aims to bring fans closer to the action on the field. Due to team constraints, Gimcheon was unable to implement variable seating earlier in the season, leading to concerns about a lack of ‘Home Merit’ caused by distant fan support. Responding to fan feedback and requests, Gimcheon took proactive steps to reinstall the variable seating arrangement. While the scale of the variable seat installation may be smaller compared to previous seasons, additional entertainment features like the Vision CI and the mascot Shwoong Photo Zone will be incorporated around the seating area. The reintroduction of variable seats is expected to foster a more intimate and engaging atmosphere, fostering increased interaction between fans and players. This development is anticipated to inject new energy into the team, which had lamented the absence of variable seats at the beginning of the current season.

In addition to the variable seat initiative, fans can look forward to a series of exciting events at Gimcheon Stadium. The ‘Water & Rock Festival’ promises to captivate spectators, with attractions such as the ‘Water Canon’ cooling system for variable seats and a special performance by the three-member band ‘Kachi Mountain.’ Known for their dynamic performances at rock festivals, ‘Kachi Mountain’ is set to elevate the festival’s atmosphere with poetry readings and halftime shows. Lee Jae-ha, the CEO of Gimcheon, expressed enthusiasm about the reintroduction of variable seats, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the club in gathering feedback from devoted fans and citizens. Emphasizing the importance of creating an engaging viewing environment, Gimcheon aims to make each matchday experience truly memorable for fans and supporters of the team.
