Fleshwater has recently unveiled their latest single, ‘Last Escape’, from their upcoming album, 2000: In Search of Endless Sky. This track serves as the band’s second release in preparation for the full album launch on September 5, 2025, under Closed Casket Activities.

The band’s previous single, ‘Jetpack’, presented a darker tone compared to their current release. ‘Last Escape’ showcases a unique fusion of hardcore elements with moody shoegaze vibes, intertwining weighty riffs with ethereal harmonies that soar effortlessly.

A notable feature in ‘Last Escape’ is guitarist Anthony DiDio’s vocal contribution, where he takes the stage alongside Marissa Shirar in a balanced partnership. Additionally, David Haik from Pianos Become The Teeth lends his drumming skills to the track, injecting a dynamic energy that prompts an involuntary head nod from listeners.

Accompanying the music is a visually captivating video shot in the now-abandoned Northfield Square Mall in Bradley, Illinois. The location, once bustling, is now deserted as plans for a water park takeover loom in the background.

In the wake of the success of their debut album, We’re Not Here To Be Loved, released in 2022, Fleshwater embarked on an extensive tour circuit. This journey saw them sharing stages with renowned acts such as The Mars Volta, CHAT PILE, and Deftones, even making a stop in Australia with Sunbleached tagging along in 2024.

The production process for their forthcoming album, 2000: In Search of Endless Sky, involved recording in various studios across the country. Vocal tracks were self-recorded, while guitar and bass components were captured at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, led by Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks. Drum recordings took place at Mag Pie Recording in Baltimore, Maryland, skillfully engineered by Kevin Berntsein.

With ‘Last Escape’ setting the stage, fans can anticipate the thematic journey that the full album will bring. The tracklist for 2000: In Search of Endless Sky includes songs like ‘Drowning Song’, ‘Green Street’, ‘Be Your Best’, and ‘Sundown’ among others, reflecting the diverse musical landscape that Fleshwater is set to explore in this upcoming release.

As Fleshwater gears up for the official launch of their much-anticipated album, ‘Last Escape’ stands as a testament to their evolving sound and unwavering commitment to artistic growth. Stay tuned for the arrival of 2000: In Search of Endless Sky and immerse yourself in the sonic offerings of this dynamic musical ensemble.
