Suede reveals plans for 2026 UK tour in anticipation of upcoming album “Antidepressants”
Suede is set to captivate audiences in a big way next year, as they announce a massive UK tour to promote their upcoming album “Antidepressants,” scheduled for release on September 5. The iconic Brit rock band will kick off their tour on January 30 in Folkestone, Kent, and will hit a total of 17 cities across the UK, including stops in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Sheffield, and ending with a grand performance in Brighton on February 21. Fans will have the opportunity to secure tickets early from August 27 through an exclusive pre-sale for those who pre-order the album, with general ticket sales starting from August 29.
The band’s decision to embark on this extensive tour follows closely on the heels of their six-date residency at London’s Southbank Centre in August and September, which was a complete sell-out. The residency, known as the “Takeover,” will include a variety of events such as an exclusive “Antidepressants” performance, a documentary screening, a Q&A session, classic hits nights with special guests, an intimate off-mic concert, and a full orchestral performance alongside the Paraorchestra. Brett Anderson, the band’s frontman, expressed his excitement about this residency, stating that it offers a unique opportunity for the band to delve beyond the traditional rock gig format. Anderson described the series as a chance for fans to experience a mix of old, new, borrowed, blue songs, drama, melody, noise, sweat, and a few surprises.
Anderson also shared insights into the new album “Antidepressants,” drawing a parallel between this upcoming release and their previous album “Autofiction,” which was their highest-charting album in more than 20 years. He described “Antidepressants” as the band’s post-punk record, capturing the tensions of modern life, paranoia, anxiety, and neurosis that prevail in today’s society. Anderson emphasized that these themes reflect the universal struggle for connection in a disconnected world, with the album serving as “broken music for broken people.” “Antidepressants” will offer a range of formats for fans to enjoy, including CD (standard and deluxe), vinyl (standard and colored variants), picture disc LP, cassette, and a deluxe box set, all available for pre-order.
The tour will be a golden opportunity for fans to witness Suede perform live and experience the essence of their music in person. The band’s relentless passion, energy, and timeless music continue to captivate audiences, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all who attend their concerts. Suede’s UK tour in 2026 promises to be a spectacular showcase of their new album “Antidepressants,” along with a vibrant mix of old classics and surprises that showcase their enduring creativity and artistry.
