Additionally, another unreported blast was identified at a northern wing staircase around the same time. Subsequent footage captured damage at both staircases and revealed injuries sustained by staff members in the operating department.
The type of munition used in the third and fourth strikes remains a matter of debate among experts. While some analysts identified the projectiles as Lahat missiles, others indicated that they may have been fired by Israeli tanks. The short interval between the attacks suggests that multiple tanks could have been involved in targeting the hospital simultaneously. Satellite images corroborate the presence of IDF forces within firing range on the day of the assault.
The IDF’s response to the incident has undergone several stages, initially stating regret for any harm caused and subsequently recognizing responsibility for the attack.
