Ice Cube starts first US tour in more than 10 years

Ice Cube, one of the founding members of N.W.A, has begun his first United States tour in more than a decade and is poised to release a new album this autumn. The “Truth to Power: 4 Decades of Attitude” Tour, consisting of 22 shows, commenced on September 4 in Brooklyn and will include stops in various notable U.S. and Canadian cities, such as Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, and more, concluding in October.

Ice Cube described this tour as more than just a musical event, emphasizing that it marks a 40-year celebration. He emphasized the importance of truth and power in today’s world and asserted that his music encapsulates these ideals. Ice Cube expressed his excitement for the tour, emphasizing that it will feature a major production unlike anything he has done before, promising a one-of-a-kind experience for his fans.

Coinciding with his tour, Ice Cube will debut his latest album, “Man Up,” on September 12 and recently released a new track from the album called “Before Hip Hop.” Addressing the misconceptions surrounding hip hop and its connection to crime and societal issues, the rapper notes that these problems predate the genre. He aims to debunk the myth that hip hop is solely responsible for violence and injustice, asserting that it has simply raised awareness of existing societal issues.

Throughout his illustrious 40-year career, Ice Cube has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. He has been recognized with accolades such as a handprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of N.W.A. Furthermore, an award in his name was established at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame to honor his contributions.
