Bloodbound is gearing up to release a new studio album titled “Field of Swords” on November 21st, 2025, through Napalm Records. The Swedish metal band, celebrating two decades since their debut album, is set to make a powerful statement with this latest release. Known for their epic power metal sound, Bloodbound recently made waves with their appearance in the hit series “Knuckles”, showcasing their musical prowess and storytelling abilities.

With “Field of Swords”, Bloodbound takes a step back in time, moving beyond the Viking era they recently explored and delving into the Middle Ages. The album’s concept dives into historical narratives of warfare and the evolution of weaponry, emphasizing the importance of skilled swordsmen in battle. The band’s vivid storytelling, a hallmark of their live shows, is expected to captivate audiences once again with this new release.

The album’s lead single, “Defenders of Jerusalem”, sets the tone for what’s to come. This sweeping track tells a tale of bravery and conflict, leaving listeners on the edge with its ambiguous ending. Boasting heavy riffs and melodic keyboards, the song showcases Bloodbound’s ability to craft dynamic and engaging metal compositions.

Fredrik Bergh, keyboardist for Bloodbound, describes “Defenders of Jerusalem” as one of the standout tracks on the album, praising guitarist Tomas Olsson for his exceptional songwriting skills. Olsson sheds light on the historical inspiration behind the song, focusing on the siege of Jerusalem in 1187 and the valor displayed by its defenders against overwhelming odds.

“Field of Swords” is a conceptual journey that builds upon the band’s previous album “Tales From the North” (2023), transitioning into a new era of history. Bergh expresses excitement for the album’s release under Napalm Records, promising a contemporary sound while retaining the classic elements that define Bloodbound’s music. The album is described as a diverse collection of tracks, ranging from aggressive anthems to majestic ballads, with guest appearances adding further depth to the storytelling.

In addition to “Defenders of Jerusalem”, “Field of Swords” features eleven more compelling tracks that highlight Bloodbound’s musical prowess. From the powerful opener “Field of Swords” to the poignant “Born to be King”, the album offers a mix of energetic melodies and poignant lyrics that resonate with themes of battle and heroism. Collaborations with renowned vocalists, such as Brittney Slayes of Unleash The Archers, add a unique dimension to the album’s narrative.

Fans can look forward to various formats of “Field of Swords”, including a Deluxe Box set and vinyl editions, each offering a distinctive listening experience. The band’s upcoming live shows are expected to showcase the new material, bringing Bloodbound’s epic sound to audiences around the world.

As Bloodbound prepares to unleash “Field of Swords” upon the metal scene, their latest offering promises to be a testament to their enduring legacy as purveyors of powerful and engaging metal music. With a blend of historical storytelling, energetic performances, and melodic compositions, the band continues to solidify their position as one of the genre’s most compelling acts.
