Twisted Sister announces worldwide tour to celebrate 50th anniversary: “We still want to rock!”
Prepare to rock and roll like it’s 1976 because Twisted Sister is making a grand return to the stage. The iconic band, famous for hits like “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock,” has announced a world tour to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2026, promising an electrifying experience filled with rebellious energy and unapologetic glam metal extravagance.
Founding guitarist and manager Jay Jay French reminisced about the band’s journey: “Starting in a small bar called The Turtleneck Inn in Hunter Mountain, NY on February 2nd, 1976, Dee Snider, Eddie Ojeda, and I have proudly carried the banner of Twisted Sister for nearly five decades. Through numerous lineup changes and countless shows, we have stood united, creating a musical and performance legacy that has inspired fans worldwide.”
Lead guitarist Eddie Ojeda highlighted the band’s enduring impact: “Even after five decades, Twisted Sister’s music continues to resonate with rebels who have a cause and a passion to crank up the volume.”
Dee Snider, the charismatic frontman, expressed his enthusiasm for hitting the stage once more: “When your band is still in demand fifty years later, how can you resist the call to rock? In 2026, Twisted Sister will embark on a global tour because we still have the passion to rock!”
Following the loss of their longtime drummer A.J. Pero, Twisted Sister undertook their last tour in 2016 with Mike Portnoy behind the drum kit. This time around, they welcome Joe “Seven” Franco back on drums for the first time since the recording and touring of Love Is For Suckers in 1987, alongside Russell Pzütto on bass, a familiar face from Snider’s solo projects and previous Twisted Sister performances.
While specific tour dates remain a secret, fans can anticipate grand stages, anthemic choruses, and a resurgence of the iconic ’80s rock aesthetic. For die-hard fans who have eagerly awaited their return, 2026 is shaping up to be a triumphant homecoming for Twisted Sister.
