n a concert to celebrate its 40th anniversary at KEPCO Art Center on September 27, Shinchon Blues will showcase their legendary songs that have transformed the blues genre in Korea. Known for hits like “Street Without You,” “In the Midnight,” “Alley Road,” and “Red Sunset,” Shinchon Blues has been a pillar of Korean-style blues since the early 1980s, introducing and popularizing the genre in the country.

The band, formed by the late Kim Hyun-sik, Lee Jung-sun, Han Young-ae, Seo Jeong-yong, Lee Kwang-jo, and Um In-ho, has been a nurturing ground for many artists over the years. Notable figures like Kim Hyun-sik, Kim Jong-jin, Jeon Tae-kwan, Kyunghwa Jung, Lee Eun-mi, and Kang Heo Dal-rim have all found their place within the legacy of Shinchon Blues. The upcoming 40th-anniversary concert will feature original member Lee Jung-sun and Park Kwang-hyun, along with the current vocalists Janice, Kim Sang-woo, and Kang Mi-hee.

Similarly, the progressive metal band Dream Theater is gearing up for a concert in Korea to mark the 40th anniversary of its formation. With drummer Mike Portnoy rejoining the band after a 15-year hiatus, fans are eagerly anticipating this milestone event.
