The iconic rock band, The Rolling Stones, have been back in the studio crafting a new album, as confirmed by Keith Richards’ son. Their most recent album, “Hackney Diamonds,” was released in 2023 and marked their return to original material after an 18-year hiatus. Reports from June indicated that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Steve Jordan started working on a follow-up to “Hackney Diamonds” since April, producing 13 songs at Metropolis Studios in West London. This creative endeavor took precedence over their initial plans to tour during the summer.

Marlon Richards, in an interview with Record Collector, verified this information by stating, “They’re in town right now, recording.” His remarks, shared via NME, shed light on their intense work schedule, running from after lunch until the early hours of the morning in locations like Chiswick. This dedication to their craft led to the accumulation of enough material for an upcoming album, with Marlon hinting at their progress being nearly complete.

The motivation for embarking on this new musical journey stemmed partially from the critical acclaim received for “Hackney Diamonds.” Winning a Grammy for ‘Best Rock Album’ in 2025 reinvigorated the band, inspiring them to dive back into the creative process with renewed enthusiasm. Marlon hinted at their eagerness to replicate their success with another album in a similar vein, leveraging the momentum gained from their recent accolades.

In addition to their recording efforts, Marlon hinted at The Rolling Stones’ plans for a European tour, alluding to potential live performances across the continent. Previous announcements had slated them for a tour in 2025, including a stop at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which unfortunately did not come to fruition. Despite setbacks in their live show plans, the band remains focused on delivering new music to their dedicated fan base.

Mick Jagger, in an interview with The New York Times in 2023, expressed optimism about the band’s future creative output, stating, “I don’t think it’s the last Rolling Stones album. We’ve got almost three-quarters through the next one.” This sentiment underscores the band’s enduring commitment to producing music and their excitement about the upcoming release.

As The Rolling Stones continue to push musical boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide, fans eagerly anticipate the unveiling of their latest musical offering. With their rich history of chart-topping hits and electrifying live performances, the band’s new album promises to be a testament to their enduring legacy in the realm of rock music.
