Rick Wakeman to embark on first-ever US tour with son Oliver

Prog rock icon Rick Wakeman is gearing up for a significant run of US shows in March 2026, alongside his son, Oliver. The tour, aptly named Wakeman & Son, will mark the first-ever road trip for the talented duo.

This unique collaborative effort comes after Rick had to defer his 2025 performances due to a surgical procedure. Rather than rescheduling the gigs, Wakeman saw an opportunity to create a historical moment by setting out on a concert series with his son.
While Rick and Oliver have sporadically shared the stage before, notably during a revival of The Myths and Legends of King Arthur… at London’s O2 Arena, this upcoming tour will showcase the keyboard virtuosos in their element.
Expressing his excitement, Rick admitted, “It’s always an honor for me to share the stage with one of my wonderful children. And for the first time, it’s a thrill to be actually doing a tour with my eldest son Oliver. I know it will be very special – especially if, on the odd occasion, he buys me dinner!!”
Wakeman has solidified his place in classic rock history as a keyboard wizard. Rising to fame in the early 1970s as a pivotal member of Yes, he also lent his talents to the Strawbs and numerous session projects. His solo repertoire, encompassing albums like The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and King Arthur, seamlessly merged classical elements with rock grandeur and theatrical flair, securing his status as a legend in the realm of progressive rock.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Oliver Wakeman has carved out a niche for himself as a keyboardist, composer, and bandleader. With a series of well-received solo and collaborative albums under his belt, Oliver has also had the opportunity to perform with Yes and the Strawbs. Much like his father, Oliver gravitates toward concept-driven music, weaving intricate arrangements with themes of storytelling, fantasy, and creativity.
Fans attending the tour can anticipate a setlist that pays homage to the Wakemans’ shared musical heritage while showcasing their individual talents. Having made significant contributions to the worlds of prog rock and classic rock, this tour presents a rare chance to witness two generations of keyboard excellence on one stage.
The Wakeman & Son US Tour 2026 includes a lineup of dates at various venues across the nation. From Ridgefield, CT, to Red Bank, NJ, these performances promise an unforgettable experience for attendees. Plus, fans who held tickets to the postponed 2025 shows can rest assured that their tickets remain valid for these rescheduled dates.
