Aerosmith and Yungblud Collaborate on New Song “My Only Angel”
Following their tribute performance to Ozzy Osbourne at the VMAs, Aerosmith has once again joined forces with Yungblud for their first new music release in over ten years.
Entitled “My Only Angel,” the collaboration is part of a five-track EP named One More Time, scheduled to hit the music scene on November 21st. This eagerly awaited release marks Aerosmith’s return to the music scene since their album Music From Another Dimension in 2012.
The idea for “My Only Angel” emerged when Yungblud extended an invitation to Aerosmith to participate in a guest feature on his song “Hello Heaven, Hello.” The magic that happened in the studio between the artists inspired the creation of the EP, which includes four fresh tracks and a new rendition of the classic Aerosmith hit “Back in the Saddle.” The new single beautifully mixes Steven Tyler’s iconic vocals with contemporary elements, reminiscent of Aerosmith’s Just Push Play era.
Regarding the collaboration, Steven Tyler expressed, “Making music with Yungblud has been like plugging into pure electricity. Here’s this kid who grew up on our records, and now we’re in the studio together creating something that bridges generations. When we sang together for the first time, I could feel that same fire that drove us when we were starting out in Boston. Yungblud is writing the next chapter in rock history—and we’re honored to write it with him. Rock and roll is timeless when you pour your heart and soul into it.”
Joe Perry further added, “You know it’s special when you pick up your guitar and the energy in the room completely shifts. Working with Yungblud reminded us why we fell in love with rock and roll in the first place—it’s raw, it’s rebellious and it refuses to be tamed. These new songs have teeth, and that’s exactly what rock needs right now. This is Aerosmith doing what we do best: pushing forward, while staying true to who we are.”
This collaboration is a significant step for Aerosmith as it follows their decision to retire from touring due to Steven Tyler’s vocal injury, leading to the cancellation of their “Peace Out” farewell tour. However, the band members have not completely retreated from the musical spotlight, as Tyler and Joe Perry have made memorable appearances at special events, like their recent gig at the Hollywood Bowl with the Joe Perry Project.
The EP “One More Time” promises to usher in a new era for Aerosmith, with fans enthusiastically awaiting its full release in November.
