gs and experiences that chart his life as one of Louisiana’s fiercest blues-rock voices. Alongside today’s announcement, Boogie has released the album’s lead single, “A Fool Can See”, with an accompanying music video.

Crafted around the theme of fool’s gold, which appears shiny from afar but loses luster up close, “A Fool Can See” sets the stage for the album’s candid storytelling. Boogie explains, “I kept hearing this idea of fool’s gold – how something shines until you get close. The rest wrote itself.” The track, with a swaggering groove, delves into revealing the subtle hints that expose the truth behind various aspects of life, whether in relationships, industry promises, or the stories people tell themselves for comfort. Boogie’s guitar work complements the narrative with bends that convey hesitation and eventual honesty in musical form.

Jonathon “Boogie” Long’s musical journey began in Baton Rouge, where music wasn’t just a pastime but a language spoken in his family. His foundations in music trace back to his parents’ gospel singing and leadership in church services, and his grandfather’s fiery sermons accompanied by simple guitar chords. By the age of six, Boogie was performing in various settings with his trusty guitar in hand, witnessing the transformative power of music firsthand. “Music is a universal language,” Boogie remarks. “It can make a mad person calm or a calm person crazy.”

Under the guidance of mentor Mark Wascom, Boogie honed his skills by learning to play by ear and prioritize feel over theory. Immersed in blues jams with Louisiana icons like Kenny Neal and Larry Garner, he expanded his musical vocabulary. By eleven, he was already earning from gigs and at fourteen, he made the bold decision to leave school and hit the road with Henry Turner Jr. During his teenage years as a side-man in adult venues, he learned valuable lessons in adaptability, attentive listening, and self-sufficiency.

Boogie’s career has seen its share of highs and lows, from touring prestigious stages in the U.S. and Europe, sharing platforms with legends like B.B. King, ZZ Top, and Robert Cray, to facing disappointments and setbacks. However, these experiences have contributed to shaping his forthcoming album, “Courage in the Chaos”. Scheduled for release on November 14th, 2025, via Myrical Media, the album weaves together fresh compositions with long-held songs, serving as a musical roadmap of Boogie’s life. Drawing from influences like Baton Rouge blues, Black gospel phrasing, and roots rock energy, the record captures a rawness that feels both timeless and urgent.

Thematically, “Courage in the Chaos” delves into resilience and self-identity, presenting a unified tapestry of Boogie’s past and present musical expressions. The album reflects a blend of Baton Rouge blues traditions, gospel nuances, and rock energy, infused with a raw authenticity that resonates with listeners. Boogie’s soulful vocals and poignant guitar work merge seamlessly, emphasizing that for him, music is not about flashy displays but about conveying truths and emotions.

Balancing intensity with maturity, Boogie’s guitar work speaks volumes, sometimes screaming in urgency and often singing with profound emotion.

The album’s tracklist boasts a collection of 12 songs, including the lead single “A Fool Can See”.
