Outline and Gabisom lead the biggest rodeo festival in Latin America
The Festa do Peão de Barretos, known as the Cowboy Festival of Barretos in Portuguese, stands as the largest rodeo event in the southern hemisphere, firmly embedded in the cultural fabric of Brazil. This grand spectacle takes place annually in Barretos, São Paulo, under the skilled organization of the esteemed social club Os Independentes, drawing nearly one million eager attendees each year. While the festival is renowned for its thrilling rodeo contests, it has seamlessly integrated a vibrant music scene, captivating up to 80,000 enthusiasts within the cavernous Barretos Arena.
In the year 2025, Gabisom Audio Equipment, a prominent company headquartered in São Paulo with a solid reputation in audio rentals, was entrusted with providing the comprehensive sound system for the event, all meticulously crafted based on the cutting-edge Outline technology. The assemblage showcased an array of top-of-the-line speakers including GTO, GTO-DF, Superfly, Mantas 28, and DBS 18-2, meticulously fine-tuned by Gabisom’s System Engineer, Targe Vicente. Vicente’s expertise ensured that the sound system enveloped the sprawling open-air venue with utmost precision and control.
Commenting on the ingenious system design and his interaction with Outline’s GTO range, Vicente praised the system’s ability to handle vast productions flawlessly. He highlighted the unparalleled capability of the GTO line in reproducing audio signals with the finesse of studio monitors while delivering the robust power and projection required for an arena of such magnitude. Vicente lauded the fidelity, output, and flexible rigging of the system, deeming it an ideal choice for an event as grand as the Barretos Festival.
Mixing engineer Pedro Nery, the mastermind behind curating the Ce Tá Doido Festival, a prominent musical feature within the Barretos program, shared his exhilarating experience working with Outline. Nery praised the system’s astounding sound pressure levels and projection, especially commending the sub-bass section for instilling depth into the sound within a venue like the Barretos Arena, known for its less-than-optimal acoustics. The system’s ability to preserve clarity and power over considerable distances left Nery thoroughly impressed.
With a gathering as colossal as the Barretos Festival, factors like throw distance, clarity, and headroom played a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless audio experience. Nery emphasized the well-executed distribution of the system, with strategically positioned main tracks and outfills projecting with clarity and volume. Employing delay modules such as the Superfly was crucial in extending the sound to the far reaches of the arena while maintaining sonic consistency. The exceptional performance of the sub-bass section, even at significant distances from the stage, reflected the system’s superior depth and control.
