DC Universe Online Launches New ‘Raging Night’ Update
DC Universe Online has introduced the third installment of the ongoing Green Lantern narrative with the release of Light & Rain: Raging Night. This update places Mogo, the sentient planet, in a state of distress due to the infiltration of sorrow energy emanating from Luzia. The impending threat from Nekron’s forces plunges Mogo into an emotional turmoil, prompting both heroes and villains to unite and defend the planet alongside Kyle Rayner.
Players who have reached level 20 or above can embark on a journey to explore Mournful Mogo, witnessing the devastation that has befallen the landscapes as they engage in a series of story-driven missions. Upon completing the main story arc, daily and weekly missions become available, presenting new challenges and rewards as the battle against Nekron escalates. It is crucial for players to align themselves with the Lantern Corps, confront the advancing forces of Nekron, and emerge victorious in the face of the impending Raging Night.
The update introduces a new raid, alert, and solo mission titled “Book of the Black,” set within the depths of a dark cave on Mogo. Players are drawn into the sinister plot orchestrated by Lyssa Drak, encountering imprisoned allies and the corrupted influence of Luzia’s sorrow. The narrative hints at the involvement of Sinestro, Larfleeze, and the looming shadow of Nekron, foreshadowing betrayals and a descent into despair. The raid offers varying difficulty levels, with an alert version catering to smaller teams, and a solo mission serving as a prelude to the larger battles ahead.
A key component of the update is the new solo instance known as “Nekron’s Lair,” where the inevitable clash with Nekron, the Lord of the Unliving, takes place. Players must venture into the depths of Nekron’s Lair, rescue Atrocitus, and forge a White Lantern capable of challenging death personified.
In addition to the narrative-driven content, the update introduces new gameplay elements such as Mogo Acorns as currency, Life-Infused Augment Canisters, Risen Exobytes, Shattered Rings, and new gear inspired by Kyle Rayner’s Constructs and Nekron’s Omnipotence. Players can also pursue new feats, collections, and other in-game rewards.
To engage with the Raging Night Event, players have a four-week window to experience the story-driven content and earn exclusive rewards. The event kicks off on September 23, 2025, and concludes on October 20, 2025, with an extended reward buyout period until November 17, 2025. Participants can obtain rewards such as the Elite Henchmen Uplink Device: Risen Horde, Mogo Acorn Packs, and Ally Favor points.
