New Song School of Arts moving to Southlake location
New Song School of Arts, a long-standing establishment offering music and theater education, is set to open a new location in Southlake, Texas. This expansion comes after years of success in the Argyle community, where the school has been operating since 1999 under the leadership of owners Heather and Todd Parks.
The school, founded 26 years ago in Lewisville, has been catering to the needs of the Argyle area for over a decade. Their vision for excellence in fine arts education has garnered them a positive reputation in the North Texas region. The new campus in Southlake, situated within Southlake Baptist Church, is a testament to their commitment to providing quality instruction in various artistic disciplines.
New Song School of Arts prides itself on offering private lessons in a wide range of musical instruments such as piano, voice, guitar, percussion, strings, woodwinds, and brass. Additionally, they provide instruction in various theater mediums, creating a comprehensive artistic learning experience for their students. Todd Parks, one of the owners of the school, describes New Song as an “elevated fine art experience” that sets a high standard for arts education in the region.
The decision to expand into Southlake was influenced by a fortuitous encounter with Southlake Baptist Church Pastor Clayton Reed. Originally planning to open a new location in Ponder, the Parks were approached by Pastor Reed after officiating a wedding in Argyle. This connection led to the establishment of the new campus in Southlake, providing more accessibility to students living south of Grapevine Lake who previously had to commute from places like Gainesville, Frisco, McKinney, and Fort Worth to attend the Argyle location.
With over 1,300 students currently enrolled at the Argyle campus and a dedicated faculty and staff of over 100, New Song School of Arts has built a strong foundation for its expansion. The addition of the Southlake location will not only help reduce commuting times for existing students but also attract new students interested in quality arts education closer to home.
In a recent event hosted by New Song in Argyle, Miguel Cervantes, known for his role as Alexander Hamilton in “Hamilton” on Broadway and in Chicago, performed some of the show’s greatest hits for the community. This event showcased the school’s commitment to excellence and their ability to attract top talent to their programs. The Parks expressed their excitement about expanding their reach and values to Southlake, highlighting their motto, “The Standard is Excellence.”
As New Song School of Arts gears up for its new chapter in Southlake, the community can look forward to experiencing the same level of exceptional arts education that has defined the school’s legacy in the North Texas region for over two decades.
