Unseemlier and Little Low prepare for Fest 22 with split release and new heartfelt music
Unseemlier and Little Low are gearing up for their performances at Fest 23 by releasing a split single on October 3. The release will coincide with Unseemlier’s first tour, which will feature appearances at Fest 23 in Gainesville, Florida. Unseemlier’s contribution to the split, titled “I’d Quit This Band If I Weren’t Financially Invested,” delves into the experience of growing apart from someone. The band describes the track as capturing the feeling of watching someone change in ways that make them unrecognizable, leading to reflections on whether reconciliation is even possible.
The track was recorded by Kyle Paradis of Oh The Humanity! and mastered by Zach Weeks at God City in Salem, Massachusetts. Unseemlier, a Boston-based band, recently released their debut album “I Have a Screw Loose, Somewhere” on June 13 via Sell The Heart Records. The 23-minute record was inspired by frontman Mike Assatly’s return to Massachusetts following nearly a decade in California. Formed in fall 2023, the band consists of Assatly, Chris Pina, and Kevin Merriam, childhood friends who quickly penned their first tape. Bassist and vocalist Andrea Neuenfeldt later joined the lineup.
Little Low, also a Boston-based band, explores themes of addiction, loss, suburban isolation, and maintaining a positive outlook on their debut album. Titled “I Have a Screw Loose, Somewhere,” the album embodies emo nostalgia and a shared passion for raw, unapologetic music. The band’s upcoming tour schedule includes shows throughout October, with highlights including a Tampa Pre-Fest show and a performance at Fest 23 in Gainesville, Florida.
