The iconic rock band Rush, founded by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, has recently announced their much-anticipated reunion tour after an 11-year hiatus. The 2026 Fifty Something tour is dedicated to celebrating the band’s profound musical contributions and commemorating the life of their late drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart, who tragically passed away in January 2020 due to glioblastoma. In light of Neil’s absence, the band has recruited Anika Nilles, a talented German musician, to fill his position on the upcoming tour, which is scheduled to commence on June 7 at LA’s Kia Forum.

The decision to embark on the 2026 tour was made with the full support and endorsement of Neil’s family, including his widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and daughter, Olivia Peart. Reflecting on Neil’s remarkable legacy as both a drummer and lyricist, the family expressed their enthusiasm for the Fifty Something tour, affirming Rush’s enduring influence on fans across generations. Geddy Lee took to Instagram to share additional details about the tour, revealing plans to introduce a keyboard player to the lineup and teasing Alex’s penchant for dancing at the age of 72.

With an extensive repertoire of “35, 36 songs” in the works, Rush aims to offer a diverse setlist that can be varied from night to night throughout the tour. Following the initial shows in LA, the Fifty Something tour will make its way to Mexico City for a single performance, followed by two-night stops in Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, and Toronto. The tour will culminate on September 17 with a final concert in Cleveland, marking the conclusion of this highly-anticipated musical journey.

Throughout their illustrious career, Rush has captivated audiences worldwide with their distinctive sound and exhilarating performances. As they gear up for the 2026 reunion tour, fans can look forward to an unforgettable musical experience that pays homage to the band’s enduring legacy and the indelible impact of Neil Peart’s contributions.
