Langhorne Slim reveals new album ‘The Dreamin’ Kind’ produced by Sam F. Kiszka from Greta Van Fleet

Langhorne Slim has unveiled his upcoming album, titled The Dreamin’ Kind, which is set to drop on January 16 under the label of Dualtone Records. Produced by Sam F. Kiszka from Greta Van Fleet, the album has already been introduced to fans through the singles, “Haunted Man” and “Rock N Roll.”

Following the release of his last album, Strawberry Mansion, in 2021, Langhorne Slim had the opportunity to open for Greta Van Fleet during a live performance in Connecticut. It was during this time that Kiszka and his bandmates were first introduced to Slim’s music.

Recalling his initial encounter with Langhorne Slim’s music, Kiszka expressed how Lost at Last, Volume 1 deeply resonated with him. He admired Slim’s undeniably strong presence and raw emotional delivery in his music. For Kiszka, rock & roll embodies a certain energy rather than a specific sound, and he recognized that Slim possessed that unique energy.

Upon returning to Nashville, Langhorne Slim paid a visit to Kiszka’s home, sparking the collaborative process of creating music together. Alongside Greta Van Fleet’s drummer, Daniel Wagner, the trio worked together to bring The Dreamin’ Kind to life, consisting of 12 tracks, including the previously released single, “Dream Come True.”

Reflecting on the creative process, Slim shared his excitement about the new album, mentioning how working with Kiszka and Wagner allowed him to explore his rock & roll influences, which are deeply intertwined with his singer-songwriter roots. Given his usual preference for acoustic performances, recording The Dreamin’ Kind provided him with the opportunity to delve into more high-energy, electrifying sounds.

Displayed through the singles “Haunted Man” and “Rock N Roll,” Langhorne Slim showcases a raw and unapologetically bold side in The Dreamin’ Kind. The album promises a diverse range of musical experiences, each track offering a unique approach to storytelling and sonic exploration.
