APG provides sound systems for European festivals
APG’s Uniline Max system made a significant impact across various festivals in Europe this summer. One such event was the Place aux Artistes Festival in Albi, France, which saw a turnout of over 60,000 spectators enjoying more than 40 concerts across the town’s cultural and historic sites. Damien Granier’s DHT Audio was the driving force behind the audio design, selecting a complete setup of APG equipment for the festival, ranging from small riverbank performances to large scale open-air shows in the Place du Vigan.
At the main stage, where performances paying tribute to musical icons like Queen, Tina Turner, and Jean-Jacques Goldman captivated audiences of up to 5,000 people, DHT Audio deployed an optimized Uniline Max setup. This setup included six UM210 line array speakers and four UM121 subs on each side, along with SPOT 2.6 point-source speakers and DX stage monitors for front-fills. Granier noted that the UM210 speakers delivered a convincing listening experience with even coverage, impressive reach, and energetic and detailed sound across all frequencies.
In smaller settings like the Place du Château, the same Uniline Max system was adapted to a lighter format with five UM210 and two UM121 speakers per side, providing excellent sound projection and consistency that pleased both the artists and front-of-house engineers. Additionally, DHT Audio made use of the complete APG ecosystem, including iX8 and SPOT 2.6 speakers for fills and reinforcement, DX15, iX12, and SMX15 for versatile coverage and stage monitoring, and DA8 and DA12 amplifiers from Powersoft managed via Armonía Plus software.
The Uniline Max system was also showcased at notable events in Bordeaux, France, and Spain. In Bordeaux, it brought warmth and precision to a private cabaret-style event for 1,500 guests, while in Spain, the Víncula Rock Festival benefitted from the powerful sound delivered by 16 UM210 loudspeakers for rock performances. The system continued to impress at the Arverne Reggae Festival in France and Lyon’s Pride Festival.
The Festival de l’Eau in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, near Belgium, and Patrick Fiori’s outdoor concert in Valenciennes were among the many events where the Uniline Max system shined throughout the summer. This festival season marked a decade-long partnership between APG and DHT Audio, with Granier expressing his satisfaction with the brand’s support and commitment over the years.
