Ozzy Osbourne to release new album

It has been disclosed that Osbourne was eager to create a new record following his final concert and had enlisted his longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde to join him in the studio once again. Wylde recounted that Osbourne expressed his desire for another album, reminiscing about their collaboration on ‘No More Tears’, describing it as heavy yet melodic, a departure from more pummeling heavy sounds.
Wylde shared, “He was texting me: ‘Zakk, let’s do another record. Because I really loved it when you were going through your Allman Brothers, Skynyrd phase when we did ‘No More Tears’, it’s heavy but it’s more melodic, it’s not pummeling heavy.’ So I said: ‘Alright Oz, whatever you want.'”
Despite the anticipation for the new album, the project never materialized. Osbourne, however, managed to complete his autobiography, Last Rites, and participate in a BBC documentary. Reflecting on their final collaboration at the Black Sabbath reunion gig, Wylde revealed that he was unaware it would be their last time performing together. He praised Osbourne for his determination to push through any challenges they faced and expressed his positive outlook on their future collaborations.
Wylde reminisced, “Just the fact that he willed himself to do that thing. Whatever things that we’ve run into, any obstacles or whatever, it’s always just a speed bump and we’ll get through it. So I wasn’t thinking: ‘Oh, this is the last time I’m going to see Oz.’ I just figured we’ll do the gig, and then who knows? You always stay positive on all this stuff … I wasn’t thinking when we were doing the show that this was the last time I’m going to be doing ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ with the boss or this is the last time I’m going to play ‘Crazy Train’ with him or anything like that.”
Osbourne’s dedication to his craft and his passion for creating music was evident in his desire to continue making music even towards the end of his life. His sudden passing left fans and the music industry in shock, but his legacy as a rock legend and pioneer in the genre will continue to inspire generations to come. While the new album may never come to fruition, Osbourne’s impact on the world of music remains undeniable.
