Legendary rock singer set to debut first album in nearly two decades: ‘A rocking masterpiece’
Classic rock fans have something to look forward to as Lou Gramm, the iconic vocalist of the legendary band Foreigner, is gearing up to release his first new album in 17 years. Titled “Released,” the album is expected to hit shelves in March 2026, marking Gramm’s return to the music scene with a bang.
In a recent interview, Gramm shared that he has been working diligently on this project for over two years, collaborating closely with his longtime friend Bruce Turgon, who also has an extensive history with Gramm’s solo endeavors and played bass for Foreigner for nearly a decade. The album features a mix of brand-new songs as well as some tracks that were originally penned for Gramm’s earlier solo albums in the 1980s or for the side project Shadow King in 1991 but were never completed.
Gramm, who hails from Upstate New York and currently resides in Webster, N.Y., expressed his excitement about the upcoming release, highlighting the incredible sound and energy of the new songs. With a blend of past hits and fresh tunes, he promises listeners a nostalgic yet invigorating musical experience that encapsulates his signature classic rock style.
The album, “Released,” is scheduled for release on March 20 and can be preordered on vinyl through Amazon. Gramm teased that the first single off the album is set to drop in early February, building anticipation among eager fans who are eager to hear what the rock icon has been working on.
Recording the new material with his current solo group, Gramm teamed up with a talented lineup that includes his brother Ben Grammatico on drums, Jeff Jacobs on keyboards, Scott Gilman on sax, Tony Franklin on bass, and Gary Hoey on guitar. These seasoned musicians come together to deliver a powerful and electrifying sound that captures the essence of classic rock with a modern twist.
Having enjoyed immense success as the lead singer of Foreigner, Gramm has left an indelible mark on the music industry with iconic hits like “I Want to Know What Love Is,” “Hot Blooded,” and “Feels Like the First Time.” After departing from Foreigner in 1990 to pursue a solo career, Gramm released several solo albums, including “Ready or Not” and “Long Hard Look,” before reuniting with the band sporadically over the years.
