Chucky Trading Co embraces the spirit of 1970s Laurel Canyon, offering original folk-rock melodies to global audiences. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles, CTC infuses modernity into their music with acoustic instruments and harmonious vocals. Fans of The Head and the Heart or Brandi Carlile will find joy in CTC’s folk-rock sound.
Our debut album in 2021 featured 15 heartfelt tracks exploring themes of love, life, and human nature. Subsequently, our latest album, “A Sky of Hopes,” released in May 2025 to critical acclaim, showcases the intimate storytelling and harmonies of CS and Danger Taber. Described as theatrical storytelling, our music captivates listeners and draws them into our narrative world. Accompanied by music videos on YouTube, our upcoming release, “Hero,” promises a progressive folk-rock tale set in Middle Earth, reflecting on war and the human condition.
Reflecting on our artistic journey, three key qualities have profoundly influenced our growth. Firstly, a shared passion for language lays the groundwork for creative expression, as we revel in wordplay and puzzles. Our love for learning languages expands our artistic horizons. Secondly, our mutual appreciation for storytelling, fostered by a family tradition of reading aloud and our exposure to the art of storytelling in Appalachia, guides our creative endeavors. One of the primary challenges we face is the distance between us, spanning 900 miles apart, hindering our collaborative work and live performances. However, technological advancements have bridged this gap, enabling us to compose, arrange, and produce remotely through shared platforms like Zoom, FaceTime, and collaborative software. Overcoming the obstacles imposed by physical separation, we continue to nurture our creative partnership and keep the flame of creativity burning bright.
